Ingredients
- 1 can fried dace with fermented black soybeans (dousi lengyu)
- Granulated sugar, a sprinkle
- Steamed white rice

Instructions
- Cook steamed white rice.
- Prepare a simple vegetable side dish.
- Open the can of fried dace. Spoon some fish and black beans over your bowl of rice.
- Sprinkle a little granulated sugar on top for extra flavour balance.
- Eat immediately.
My Notes
This isn't really a recipe so much as a pantry staple serving suggestion.
The fermented black beans (douchi) are intensely savoury and pair perfectly with plain white rice.
Keep a few cans in the pantry for a fast, satisfying meal.
